Sewage Treatment Plant

Treats sewage from homes, hotels and campuses for safe discharge or reuse

About this plant

Overview

A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) treats wastewater from homes, commercial buildings and institutions. It removes contaminants and pathogens so the water can be discharged to the environment or reused for non-drinking purposes such as flushing and gardening.

How it works

Wastewater passes through screening, settling, biological treatment and, where required, filtration and disinfection. Bacteria break down organic matter in the biological stage, and the settled sludge is removed and handled separately.

Why choose it

Key Features

Multi-Stage Treatment Screening, biological treatment and polishing.
Compact Designs Suited to apartments, hotels, hospitals and campuses.
Water Reuse Treated water for flushing, gardening and cooling.
Automated Operation Control panels with level and pump protection.
Odour and Noise Control Designed for use close to buildings.

Step by step

Treatment Process

  1. Inflow and screening Bar screens and a grit chamber remove large debris such as plastics and leaves.
  2. Primary settling Heavier solids settle out as sludge, leaving the liquid to move on.
  3. Biological treatment Microorganisms break down dissolved organic matter in aerated tanks.
  4. Secondary settling The biomass settles and clarified water moves to the next stage.
  5. Filtration and disinfection Sand and carbon filtration and UV or chlorine disinfection polish the water for reuse.
  6. Sludge handling Settled sludge is dewatered and removed for disposal or use as a soil conditioner.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big a plant do I need?

Size depends on the daily sewage flow, usually estimated from the number of occupants or fixtures. We help you calculate it.

Can treated water be reused?

Yes, for flushing, gardening, cooling and similar non-drinking uses, depending on the treatment level and local rules.

What maintenance does an STP need?

Routine checks of blowers and pumps, periodic sludge removal and water quality testing. We offer maintenance plans for this.
